Panel discussion on unified communications

Dubai/Riyadh, 28 April 2011: FVC, Polycom’s authorised Value Added Distributor in the Middle East & North Africa (MENA), hosted its Annual Polycom Partner Conference in Dubai for its unified communications (UC) partners across the MENA region on 19th & 20th April and in Riyadh on 27th April 2011 for its Saudi Arabian partners. The Partner conference, attended by more than 100 partners across the MENA region, is an annual opportunity for FVC and Polycom’s senior EMEA management to share its channel and product strategy for 2011.

This year, in addition to sharing the latest from Polycom’s full suite of HD voice, video, Telepresence and infrastructure solutions, FVC also highlighted Polycom’s key alliances with various UC players including a live demonstration of its equipment running Microsoft’s Lync. As part of its various initiatives to help promote the adoption of UC in the region, FVC also shared information on its Managed Video as a service (MVaaS) offerings including a VNOC partnership with du that helped to offer video conferencing in an OPEX model instead of a CAPEX one. A short panel discussion on Unified Communications was held to help partners understand trends and demands in this area.

Dharmendra Parmar, General Manager for Marketing at FVC, said, “Unified communications has grown in importance in the region with more and more enterprises focused on increasing productivity and communications without compromising on security. As the technology evolves, it is important for us to share new opportunities with our partners and these annual events allow us to do just this.”

The conference gave FVC’s Polycom partners the opportunity for one-on-one meetings with senior executives from Polycom, FVC and its arena partners, VBrick and Vaddio.
