Dubai, UAE; 28 November 2011: Three authors based in UAE will read from their books on the opening day of UAE’s first community-driven, urban festival – TwingeDxb, scheduled to run from 10 – 16 December 2011. The three authors, Alexander McNabb, Frank Dullaghan and Sultan Al Darmaki will read from their books and sign autographs at the event which will also celebrate the second anniversary of the local Twitbookclub.

Sharjah-based Alexander McNabb will launch his print version of his first self-published book, Olives, at Twingedxb. He will do a reading and sign first edition copies of his book at the event. His book is already available in digital form on Amazon and on Kindle.

McNabb will be preceded by Emirati-born Sultan Al Darmaki, freelance writer who will read from his first book “Under My Black Halo” – a collection of his thoughts self-published in November 2010. He will be followed by Frank Dullaghan, an Irish writer who has lived in the UAE since 2006. Frank has read at the Emirates Literary Festival (Fringe) in 2009 and 2010 and in the main festival as part of Poeticians in 2011. He is also a member of the Emirates Literary Group and Dubai Writers Group and will have copies of his latest book of poems available at the event.

TwingeDxb, organised by Sphere Events, will showcase a different field every day of the festival from 6 – 9 pm beginning with ‘Praise for Prose’ headlined by Alexander McNabb, author, Olives. Other fields include Rhythm Sessions (music), Passion for Fashion (designers), Laughter therapy (stand up comics), Drama in Dubai (local drama groups), Magic of Poetry (local poets) and Reels of Dubai featuring local film-makers waiting in the wings.
The backdrop of the event will be the work of local painter, Noha Mourad and photographer, Catalin Marin.
