With the ‘EMEA Channel Academy: 2009 Awards’ now under a fortnight away, the event organisers have revealed the names of the vendors nominated for each category. A total of eight awards will be handed out to vendors during the gala dinner, which is taking place in Monaco on February 11th in conjunction with DISTREE XXL – EMEA’s premier event for the distribution channel and vendor community.

A total of 29 vendors have been nominated across the eight award categories. Close to 400 distribution executives will attend the ‘EMEA Channel Academy: 2009 Awards’, using live electronic voting devices to select the eventual winner in each category.

“There has been an incredible amount of work behind the scenes to get to this stage,” explained Farouk Hemraj, director at the EMEA Channel Academy. “Thousands of distribution executives from across EMEA have been approached to select their preferred nominees for each category. Our media partners across EMEA have also canvassed the opinion of the local distributors in their territory to ensure that these nominees represent the views of the entire channel community.”

The ‘EMEA Channel Academy: 2009 Awards’ is wholly committed to operating a transparent, vendor-neutral, independent event. The nominations received from distributors across EMEA have been collected, collated and counted. In each product category, the top five vendors by number of votes will face the live vote during the awards ceremony. In the Partner Programme of the Year category, the top four vendors will face off on February 11th.

“Each and every nominee should be proud of their achievement,” added Hemraj. “To be named as an official nominee is recognition that each of these vendors is at the top of their game in the specific category they have been nominated for. We would like to congratulate each and every one of them and look forward to welcoming them to the ‘EMEA Channel Academy: 2009 Awards’ gala dinner on February 11th.”
