The Assembly, the region’s first Smart Lab-Maker Space and Community Learning Initiative based in Dubai, has announced the dates for its secondShow & Tech, an exhibition featuring innovative DIY projects contributed by tech enthusiasts of all ages from around the country. The annual event, held in partnership with in5, Dubai Internet City, Dubai International Academic City, TiE Dubai, Entrepreneur Middle East, Volkswagen, Liv. by EmiratesNBD, Jacky’s Business Solutions and Optimistix Ventures, will be held on 8th June 2019 from 10AM onwards at the In5 Tech space in Dubai Knowledge Park.
The Assembly team invite academic institutions & DIY enthusiasts from around the United Arab Emirates to showcase technology prototypes to an audience of tech evangelists, investors, industry experts, entrepreneurs, and the community in general. The specific tech areas of focus for the event include AI/Machine Learning, Robotics, IoT, Blockchain, Apps, Mobility, AR/VR, UAVs, Big Data, among several other future-proof technologies.
Prashant K. Gulati (popularly known as PK), entrepreneur and Founder of The Assembly, said, “Our success in the first event last year has seen a growing interest and an upturn in the number of entries for this year’s show. This year, we have big prizes for the winning projects, including opportunities to develop their projects further with the right guidance. In support of the UAE’s continued focus on nurturing talent and encouraging innovation, we are working with community innovators and universities as well as the start-up ecosystem to provide the opportunity to develop the right technological skills to follow their dreams.”
This year’s event will cover the first floor space at in5 to showcase and accommodate up to 50 projects. The submission deadline for projects closes on May 29th. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to exhibit at the main event, free of charge.
