Sims Recycling Solutions FZE (SRS) of Jebel Ali has signed an agreement with Microsoft that allows them to supply refurbished computers and servers preinstalled with genuine Microsoft software to businesses, consumers and non-profit organisations.

SRS offer Asset Management and End of Life Solutions for IT Assets that include Secure Data Destruction, as well as full IT & Electrical Recycling Services from their base in Jebel Ali.

Philip Hughes, Managing Director Middle East explains. “For our Corporate Clients, many of them seek solutions to enable their old assets to be re-used in a compliant and environmentally beneficial manner, or for use in their internal Corporate Social Responsibility programmes. “

“Being able to refurbish their old systems and then for us to offer them for re-use or re-sale with fully licensed Microsoft software pre-loaded helps to improve the return that we can offer them.”

“Also, importantly, this agreement allows us to help work with Channel Partners in each Country across the Region to begin to build their own Value Add solutions in Partnership with us.”

Whilst there is not yet a mass-market in the Gulf Countries for re-furbished machines, there is a demand from Service Centers for spare parts and systems to support their clients.

Further afield in the Greater Middle East & North Africa region Compliant and Warrantied refurbished IT systems provide an established niche business opportunity to channel partners.

Chris Acker, WW Director Microsoft added “The Microsoft OEM Refurbisher team is pleased to welcome Sims to the Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher program as one of a very select group of secondary PC refurbishers worldwide. We look forward to collaborating with Sims in developing innovative offerings to the Middle East marketplace.”-

SRS in Jebel Ali commenced operations in May 2012 and are building Compliant Electrical, Electronic & IT Recycling Solutions for Governments, Corporates and SME’s in the Region, and are supported by a Network of Reseller Partners across the Region.
