Cairo, Egypt; 13 March 2012: Amanie Advisors and Sarie El Din, Hegazy and Associates have announced that they are hosting the second International Shariah Investment Convention (ISICII) on 20th and 21st March 2012 at the Fairmont hotel (Nile City Towers), Cairo, Egypt. ISICII is supported by the Malaysia International Islamic Financial Centre (MIFC) initiative, of which Amanie is a community member.

The importance of increasing cross-border investment is just one of the topics to be covered at the two-day ISICII event in Egypt; a country in transition and rich in opportunity. The Islamic finance industry is currently gaining ever more attention as recent turmoil in North Africa has led to a shift in governing bodies and authorities, and a search for alternative structures for the economy. This ISIC aims to provide a forum to discuss issues and opportunities in Egypt and the wider region.

As part of their commitment to the industry’s development, Amanie and its partners; Sarie El Din and Hegazy and Associates, will bring together representatives from regulatory bodies, investors, fund management houses, investment bankers, and scholars to discuss key issues viewed in the eyes of both practitioners and researchers. Issues to be discussed include topics such as Egyptian human capital and legal framework, and the Egyptian potential to be the Islamic Finance leader in North Africa, the challenges faced in developing markets, and other special presentations on increasingly popular topics such as Bancatakaful.

Ibrahim Zahaf, Managing Director of Amanie North Africa, said, “We look forward to engaging with the Egyptian financial community and welcoming them at our event. It will be important to work together on ways to facilitate greater investment in Egypt.”
