Leading charity organisation joins fund raiser for Fujairah Welfare Association and New Youth Orphanage in Nepal

The Fujairah chapter of The Red Crescent Society of the United Arab Emirates is to participate in the upcoming Fujairah Country Fair, organised by Trekking For Nepal, on the grounds of Fujairah Tennis and Country Club this Friday, 30th January 2009. UAE Red Crescent will use the opportunity to raise funds and collect clothes for the relief of the victims of the recent attacks in Gaza.

The members of the Red Crescent Society will have coupons for the “sponsor a Palestinian family” and the Palestinian Relief funds in denominations of AED 5, 10 and 50. They are also accepting clothes that they can send to the victims.

Fujairah Country Fair is one of the fundraising activities being organised by a group of UAE residents who are trekking to Everest Base Camp in March this year for charity. The group are supporting the New Youth Orphanage in Nepal and the Welfare Association of Fujairah. The Fair is being held from 2pm to 7pm and will have a host of stands selling clothes, books, used items, plants, and homemade foodstuff like jams and pickles. There will also be stalls for games, a raffle and a dedicated children’s area with bouncy castle and face painting among other activities. All proceeds go towards the two charities. Entrance tickets are priced at AED 10 for adults and 5 for children under 12.
