Dubai, UAE – 31 May 2015 – Qumu Corporation (NASDAQ: QUMU), a global provider of innovative solutions to create, manage, secure, distribute and measure the success of enterprise video, has announced the opening of its Dubai office that will serve as the headquarters for its operations in Middle East, North Africa and Turkey.

Sherman Black, Qumu CEO, said on his recent visit to the region, “The high levels of interest from both end-users and partners has driven our decision to open an office in UAE. Having a local sales presence will allow us to better serve existing customers, provide support to the needs of prospects and to efficiently drive business from within the region.”

Set up in April 2015, Qumu Middle East will be based in Dubai Internet City.

Qumu is recognized by the top industry analysts as a leader for Enterprise Video Content Management. As more and more companies strive to improve employee communications and collaboration, the demand for video content management systems is on the increase.  Enterprise video spans all vertical markets and, Qumu will be working to recruit and establish a partner network across the region with particular emphasis on Saudi Arabia, UAE and Turkey with the possibility of setting up a VAD presence in the region.

Cem Ocal has joined Qumu as its General Manager for Middle East. He brings 17 years of experience in both Direct and Channel Sales roles covering the Middle East and Turkey to the position. Before joining Qumu, Ocal was at Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise based in Dubai. His experience in the region gives him key insights into customers and channel partners in the Middle East.

The Middle East operations will be supported by marketing and technical teams covering both pre-sales and professional services functions.
