NeuroMem Technologies Pte Ltd, a pattern recognition technology company focused on the use and benefits of neuromorphic semiconductor components, and MakerCollider recently signed an MoU in Shenzhen, China, to create a joint venture to pave the way for NeuroMem’s Artificial Intelligence technology to enter the vibrant IoT sector in China. The JV will cover the development and sales of NeuroMem chips, modules and backend support across the region.

Signed this September 2017, the MOU will enable the creation of an innovative ecosystem in China in keeping with the country’s AI development plan[1] announced in July this year. According to this plan released on 20 July, China released a plan which committed it to spending $29.8 billion on AI research by 2020 and $79.48 billion by 2025.

Professor Dr Pierre Brunswick, CEO and co-founder of Neuromem Technologies, said, “We want to enable many incubators and dynamic start-ups using artificial intelligence in China to take advantage of our innovative technology.
