Middle East, 22 May 2012 – NEC Display Solutions Europe has unveiled the latest addition to its SpectraView® range, designed to satisfy the rigorous requirements of today’s creative professionals.

The SpectraView® 241 is a high-end 24-inch LCD monitor for colour critical applications with outstanding features and benefits for best picture quality and colour accuracy, as well as outstanding ergonomics and value for money.

Boasting wide gamut 10-bit Professional In-Plane Switching (P-IPS) panel performance, the SpectraView® 241 sets the colour reference benchmark against all competing brands.

With a native resolution of 1920×1200 and features such digital uniformity control and backlight ageing correction, for long-term brightness and colour stability, this display is ideally suited to anyone who cannot accept compromise on colour accuracy, including pre-press proofers, designers, photographers, precision engineers and desktop publishers.

A 14-bit Lookup Table (LUT) for hardware calibration gives precise colour control and 3D LUT colour space emulation provides for 42-bit colour control and gamma correction, irrespective of colour and input. Combined with accurate L*ab colour space and 16-bit ICC profile creation, this lets users see their work exactly as intended and identical to the final result.

“NEC Display Solutions prides itself on creating vibrant, high quality displays across every range, but some users require perfect colour reproduction, and for these people the SpectraView range is the de facto benchmark,” said Christopher Parker, Product Line Manager Professional Displays at NEC Display Solutions Europe. “The SpectraView 241 continues this proud tradition. Users can see their true colours shining through, and that’s why they love them.”

Utilising a full complement of connectivity options including DisplayPort, VGA and two DVI inputs, the display delivers enhanced productivity and multi-platform working options through picture-in-picture support and an integrated USB hub for connecting peripherals and other video inputs.

The display is not only picture perfect, but suitable for long and intensive working with 150mm height adjustment and portrait rotation capability, as well as automatic NTAA and IPS viewing angle stability.

The SpectraView® 241 can be calibrated using NEC’s SpectraView Profiler 5, the latest version of its sophisticated calibration software. This allows users to perform hardware calibration via USB or DDC/CI as well as providing full support of 3D LUT functionality.
