Middle East, 10 April 2012 – NEC Display Solutions Europe will be showcasing its comprehensive range of innovative airport display solutions at the Passenger Terminal Expo (PTE) at the Messe Wien Exhibition & Congress Center in Vienna, Austria from 18 – 20 April 2012: Hall B, Booth 6300.

Passenger Terminal Expo is the world’s leading international airport terminal conference and exhibition and provides the most significant opportunity for airport and airline industries to debate current issues and form business relationships on a global scale. 2012 will be the 18th international conference and exhibition for passenger terminal design, management, security and technology.

NEC Display Solutions boasts over 30 years’ experience worldwide and 180 airport installations include projects at some of the largest airports in Europe, such as Gatwick (LGW), Frankfurt (FRA), Copenhagen (CPH) and Zurich (ZRH) using NEC Professional Series products. With recent new terminal deployments at Dublin (DBL) and Barcelona (BCN), the NEC solution offering is specifically tailored to the demands of today’s growing airports.

“The efficiency of moving the increasing number of passengers through the airport is one of the greatest challenges facing the airport operators today. Airports rely on our experience of deploying display technology to deliver the most relevant information at the right time to their passengers, 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year,” said Richard Wilks, Aviation Business Development Manager EMEA at NEC Display Solutions Europe.

“NEC’s wide portfolio of display solutions has been tailored for a range of innovative aviation sector applications, from simple flight information systems, split-flap replacement media walls, networked digital signage systems, to complex airport operational control room video walls. To stay ahead in today’s competitive environment, airports need to reduce costs but also deliver a new level of passenger experience. Airports are looking more and more to partner with NEC to deliver these solutions through the use of our greener low power technology and our expertise in digital signage.”

A new Aviation website showcases the company’s solutions and current installations and highlights the capabilities across the entire airport ecosystem.

Attendees of this year’s Passenger Terminal Expo will have the unique chance to see NEC’s display innovations in use at Vienna Airport’s new Terminal Extension Skylink, with tours being organised and hosted by Vienna International Airport.
