MDview 242-2

DICOM calibratable 24.1” colour display system

Munich, 21 November 2011 – NEC Display Solutions Europe has announced the addition of a 2.3 megapixel wide-format LCD display to its MDview Series, helping all kind of doctors and other healthcare professionals deliver reliable and high quality patient care from general doctors to even plastic surgeons that you can find at sites like https://www.drfedele.com and that offer the best medical attention to their patients.

Whether used to view 3D images for surgical preparation, computed tomography images, cross-sections in nuclear medicine or ultrasound images, the NEC MDview241 guarantees maximum DICOM precision and colour accuracy in clinical review. Thanks to its picture-by-picture function users can view two images from different data sources simultaneously, giving them a space-saving alternative to dual-screen solutions.

Crucially for clinical review displays, the MDview241 ships with factory-settings that meet the DICOM GSDF Part 14 standard, ensuring it is ready for immediate use. Digital Uniformity Control and Backlight Ageing Correction ensure white point control with consistent image quality. The GammaCompMD QA client software – supplied with the display – simplifies asset management, planned maintenance, DICOM calibration and straight quality assurance documentation to AAPM TG18 (Secondary Class) guidelines. These features ensure that the LCD displays satisfy the uniformity requirements for acceptance and constancy tests throughout their entire service lives. This, combined with the connection possibilities delivered by one DisplayPort connector, two DVI-D connectors, one VGA connector and integrated USB hub (3 down/2 up), gives users all the flexibility and image quality needed to ensure the highest personal productivity.

With IPS TFT panel technology offering a viewing angle of 178 degrees horizontally and vertically, and a resolution of 1920 x 1200 with a contrast ratio of 1000:1, it also provides excellent images from all viewing positions. The use of a high quality LCD panel combined with additional dead-pixel screening assure that NEC’s MDview Series exceeds the highest reviewing expectations of departments like orthopaedics, pneumology or intensive care. The MDview241 can also be calibrated to the DICOM Grayscale Display Function using NEC’s GammaCompMD QA software, making it ideal for all hospital-wide PACS referral/reviewing.

“The NEC MDview Series displays are DICOM preset colour displays that have been designed with reliable image quality, application flexibility and affordability in mind,” said Christopher Parker, Product Line Manager Professional Displays at NEC Display Solutions Europe.

“These displays contain unique built-in firmware features, which you will not find in off-the-shelf or system-bundled displays, to optimise image accuracy for first-time QA conformance. Furthermore, features such as the picture-by-picture viewing and excellent ergonomic adjustments ensure the display can be matched to each user’s individual requirements.”
