Middle East, July 27, 2009: NEC Display Solutions has extended its range of projectors for digital signage applications, by adding two new projectors to its portfolio. The new projectors – NEC NP4100 and NP4100W – accompany superior lamp durability as well as reduced energy consumption, thus ensuring an outstanding total cost of ownership (TCO). Both projectors have been designed to be freely tilted, can be installed vertically and feature a multitude of interfaces.

Both the new projectors are targeted for use in large conference rooms, auditoriums, and at point of sales. The projectors can also be used in e-cinema and digital signage applications. Compared to their predecessors, the NP4000 and NP4001 fully networkable projectors offer higher brightness of 6200 and 5500 ANSI lumens, respectively. In addition, the NP4100W offers a 16:10 widescreen projection format to support best possible imaging for video applications.

“With 6200 and 5500 ANSI lumens, the NP4000 and the NP4001 projectors allow users to project crisp and bright images even in normal room light conditions. Presenters and audiences alike are afforded the many advantages of a presentation in a well lit room including note taking and maintaining audience rapport through eye contact,” explained Ian Gobey, the General Manager of NEC Display Solutions Middle East. “What makes this launch special is that while brightness and picture quality have been increased, the new projectors use less power, thereby reducing a company’s total carbon footprint.”

The projectors’ innovative 2-lamp system with its 4-segment colour wheel supports particularly bright projections. Outstanding rendition of detail is ensured by the 2100:1 contrast ratio, as well as by DynamicBlack™ technology. In addition, both the projectors have been equipped with an improved gamma table and a much wider colour space. Vibrant colours creating a luminous viewing experience for users are achieved via BrilliantColor™ technology. The intensity of the colours can also be increased using the provided 6-segment colour wheel.

Apart from the improved technical features, NEC has also laid particular emphasis on higher economy and reduced energy consumption over the entire lifetime of the projectors. The projectors accompany Eco mode, in which the projector lamps last a full 500 hours longer, when compared with previous models. The new projectors have also been specially designed so that the five optionally interchangeable lenses of the older models can be used with the new projector, too. This allows users to replace their projectors in a more economical and cost-effective manner.

The Control ID function in the projectors simplifies the management of multi-projector installations. More convenient handling is ensured by the OSD being available in 21 languages, alongside the ability of the devices to be freely tilted and the option for vertical positioning.
