‘BarType’ display allows flexibility and creativity even for the most demanding spatial limitations

Middle East, 15 March 2010 – NEC Display, one of the leading manufacturers of quality imaging solutions, has launched a new form factor public display designed to facilitate digital signage even for the most demanding spatial requirements – the NEC X431BT.

NEC Display‘s 43-inch LCD was specially designed to facilitate digital signage on pillars, on shelves or in a host of other areas with spatial limitations, which have been virtually impossible to use before. With the NEC X431BT, users can implement creative applications that open up new, effective ways of appealing to customers in landscape as well as portrait format to match the installation environment. Numerous connection and usability features such as LAN control also help to safeguard operator investments.

“As digital signage continues to grow with the introduction of digital, video and wireless technologies, spatial limitations and connectivity still remains a challenge,” said Ian Gobey, General Manager of NEC Display Solutions Middle East. “Consumers are left with few options, to choose between unappealing display panels or those with limited capacities, while others cannot accommodate a conventional public display due to the limited space available.”

“With the X431BT, NEC Display Solutions has developed an innovative LC display that fills this gap in the market of high end shop equipment perfectly. This product will be ideally suited but not limited to the transportation sector for example gate information displays at airports, bus and rail, we also anticipate good demand in the retail sector for more targetedl media campaigns at point of purchase, a proven means of increasing sales at P of P.” he adds.

With a dimension of 1096 (H) x 300 (W) x190 (D) mm, the NEC X431BT offers a range of installation options in landscape as well as portrait format while at the same time requiring only a very little space. This gives users new realms of possibilities for positioning the display and running it as a part of innovative digital signage concepts in combination with standard screen sizes. Compared to conventional mechanical or LED displays, considerably more customer information and advertising material can be presented in a visually appealing way, and most importantly in colour.

The maximum brightness of 700 cd/m2 and a contrast ratio of 3,000:1 with a resolution of 1,920 x 480 pixels guarantee outstanding display quality. The NEC option slot for expansion modules such as the NEC Built-in PC or NEC Media Player, coupled with control and management via RS232 or the even more flexible LAN connection, also maximise the user’s options for making the most out of the display.
