Dubai, U.A.E., 6 December 2009 – NEC Display, leading manufacturer of quality imaging solutions, announces its latest addition to the NEC Multeos® LCD Series with the Multeos® M401 and Multeos® M461.

The NEC Display Multeos® LCD series is the company’s line of multi-function monitors (MFMs) that offers professional-grade, high-quality components, network capable connectivity and an unparalleled feature set to create an unparalleled user experience.

NEC Display’s new MFMs feature high definition capabilities with resolutions at 1920×1080 for an immersive and visually appealing digital signage. The 40-inch Multeos® M401 and the 46-inch Multeos® M461 MFMs are designed to establish a new premium standard in the digital signage and AV markets. Redesign with more efficient components, the new MFMs enables and business owners reduce cost and improve energy efficiency with the built-in ambient light sensor feature.

According to Ian Gobey, General Manager of NEC Display Solutions Middle East, business owners are often faced with a dilemma when introducing digital signage, especially for those who take particular pride in the design of their sales rooms. “Most often business owners have to compromise techonology over apperance simply a for design reason which is why most business owners choose TV set when it comes to selecting screens for their digital signage systems,” explained Gobey. “However with our Multeos MFMs, we are dedicated on providing professional technology in a stylish package.”

The Multeos® M401 and Multeos® M461 both features NEC’s Option Slot for expansion modules, such as the built-in PC or the DVI Daisy Chain Board which offers technical as well as visual advantages. The extensions replace external distribution equipment and the cables they need to operate. And when it comes to sparing resources too, the Multeos devices are consistent. The built-in ambient light sensor measures the ambient lighting and ensures that the screen brightness is only as high as needed.

With a range of interfaces, the Multeos M401 and M461 are equipped for all kinds of situations. As well as DVI and HDMI, they boast a DisplayPort connection. The built-in Ethernet connection facilitates network integration, thereby enabling the screens to be controlled and managed remotely. An RS-232 interface enables the direct copying of device settings without having to adjust each screen manually with the remote control, thereby reducing installation costs.

The displays offer extended combination possibilities for picture-in-pictures from different signal sources. The simultaneous input for two PCs is now also possible via DVI and VGA. NEC also sets great store by user-friendliness. Different input interfaces, for instance, can be assigned informative names in order to make allocation easier (“Camera1” instead of “DVI”). Another useful detail comes into play when the screen is used in portrait mode: the on-screen display rotates around 90 degrees, making it easier to operate.

Additionally, NEC Display Solutions offers two special Multeos introduction bundles starting in January 2010. With the purchase of a new Multeos model customers can choose between a free (otherwise optional) stand and a free wall mount solution.
