Middle East, September 29, 2009: NEC Computers, a subsidiary of NEC Corporation, has announced that it is returning to GITEX Technology Week 2009, which will be held between October 18 and October 22, 2009, in Dubai. The company will be joining other divisions of the NEC group, such as NEC Philips Unified Solutions and NEC Displays on their communal stand in Zabeel Hall. NEC Computers’ new Executive Director, Tong Chhor will personally attend GITEX to meet NEC’s customers and partners.

“We introduced a key strategy in June this year to become one of the three leading players in the EMEA Servers and Storage market by 2015,” said Annick Reyngoudt, EMEA Senior Marketing Manager at NEC Computers. “GITEX 2009 will give us the opportunity to showcase some of the new solutions that will go a long way to help our partners and customers maximise their ROI with IT implementations.”

In line with the new business strategy, NEC Computers has refocused on infrastructure solutions, servers and storage, and is pursuing its desktop development strategy around virtualization technology, making the virtualized desktop cheaper to run and easier to manage than a traditional PC. With its strong capacity for innovation, NEC Computers has driven the change towards greater value for businesses by launching unique solutions for Unified Communications, Data Centre Management, Consolidation and Virtualization, Business Continuity and Availability.

At GITEX this year, NEC Computers will be actively discussing its channel expansion plans. "The Middle East has been an important growth area for our business over past years and we want to continue to build stronger ties,” added Lenia Iacovides, Managing Director for NEC Computers’ business development partner. “We are recruiting new Value Added Partners for the region who will help us to develop the business in the region further.”

Al Yousuf Computers, NEC’s local distribution partner, will also be present at the stand.
