Dubai, United Arab Emirates – 16 October 2010 – me360, a location based, smartphone application will be previewed for the first time in the Middle East. The app, currently undergoing approval at Apple, integrates easily with Twitter and Facebook accounts. me360 will be officially launched in Dubai and populated with the city’s local restaurants and retail outlets. The first version is being launched for the iPhone with versions for Android, Blackberry and other smartphones under development.

me360 will make it easier to find great places near smartphone users, see what their friends like and get directions. As businesses populate the application, users will even get great deals or exciting specials at the places they love or those places they’ve always wanted to try or have been recommended by other friends.

Matthew Beckner, one of four men behind the application, said, “We are the first location-based search app to integrate Facebook’s like feature. It is about ensuring that the user has control of where he or she goes, what they do and with whom. Its about discovering new places, new experiences through their friends likes and sharing them with these friends, leveraging social media. me360 is built to get the word out on all those hidden gems that make your city so incredible.”

The me360 team will be demonstrating the application at Gitex 2010 in Sheikh Saeed Hall as part of its new App World between October 17-21, 2010.
