MIDDLE EAST, 17 October 2010: Keynectis, Europe’s leading technology and trust services provider, is proud to announce that their PKI software suite Sequoia® has been certified Common Criteria Evaluation Assurance Level 4 Augmented (CC EAL 4+) by ANSSI (Agence Nationale de la Sécurité des Systèmes d’Information, the French government’s National Computer Security Agency).

Obtained after a rigorous year long evaluation period, this is the first time that PKI software has achieved EAL 4 augmented status in Europe.

Conducted by an independent evaluation center approved by ANSSI (CESTI – « Centre d’Evaluation de la Sécurité des Technologies de l’Information »), the evaluation, itself controlled step-by-step by ANSSI, confirmed the fact that Keynectis follows industry best practices and rigorous development procedures in the design, development, testing and review of its highly secure Sequoia® PKI software suite.

Never one to rest on its laurels, Keynectis also ensured that the Sequoia® PKI software suite was certified by ANSSI to its security « standard » level, demonstrating commitment to high level quality of products and services.

This « standard » requires industry best practice policies and procedures, including but not limited to ongoing identification, notification of and corrections of all potential security and software issues, is verified year after year through intensive audits.

Keynectis has become the first European company to offer PKI software certified to this level and, as a result, also become RGS-compliant (Référentiel Général de Sécurité – French high-security baseline reference).

These certifications are only the latest in the long list of certifications that Keynectis has obtained since 2005.

“The best practices necessary for obtaining this certification raises the security of our software applications even higher and, as a result, the security of Keynectis’ customers’ authentication, authorization and signature applications” said Pascal Colin, CEO of Keynectis. “The certification of Sequoia® also marks the recognition by government of the quality of work done by the Keynectis team and the quality of our products.”

According to Vice-Admiral Michael Benedittini, Deputy Director General of ANSSI, “a high security public key infrastructure (PKI) is essential for the development of public trust in e-government. The CC EAL4+ certification of the Keynectis PKI software suite proves its high level of security and its ability to meet the stringent requirements of the French Government. « Les Assises de la Sécurité » security conference provided the perfect setting to confirm this fact. »

The Keynectis Sequoia® PKI software suite is composed of three elements:

– Keyseed®:  management platform for Certificate Authorities (CAs)

– Trust.Center®: user certificate management platform

– K.Registration®: management interface for certificate requests (Registration Authority or RA)
