With a vision to treat each and every guest as unique and deliver tailored services to reflect this, Grand Heritage Doha Hotel & Spa has built its IT infrastructure on Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise solutions. These cover all its communications needs from a PABX system to wireless access points in all its rooms, to data connections that enable Grand Heritage to deliver the highest level of service demanded by its guests.

Located in the heart of Doha’s impressive Aspire Zone, Grand Heritage Doha Hotel & Spa is one of Qatar’s leading 5-star hotels. The hotel prides itself on high quality personalized service with focus on every detail, taking the guest to an unparalleled level of service excellence.

Prasad P.Y., IT Manager at Grand Heritage Doha Hotel & Spa, said, “As a leading 5-star hotel, we need to be continuously connected and enable our guests too. We needed a system that was reliable in terms of network performance.”

Prasad conducted extensive research and reference before awarding the contract to Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise. According to him, the decision was based on several factors including consistency and stability of the network, support from the vendor and its local integrator as well as being cost effective.

As a hotel that caters to businessmen from around the globe, Grand Heritage Doha Hotel & Spa is now able to provide its guests (and its team) with free Wi-Fi all over the hotel including access points in all its rooms. The hotel has also implemented IP telephony and mobility for internal communications within its team. According to Prasad, with 70 percent of its operational employees now using internal wireless communications devices based on the system, the hotel is saving considerable sums of money that would otherwise have been spent on mobile phone bills for internal communications.

“Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise has provided us with a cost effective solution, allowing us to maximize our technology budget for other add-ons including IPTV on the same network,” added Prasad.

The project began in 2010 and is already up and running at the hotel. Grand Heritage Doha Hotel & Spa plans to extend internal communications to include the rest of the operational and management team.

“We are very proud to be associated with this project,” said Najeh Khalil, Qatar Territory Manager for Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise. “Our solutions have a proven track record in the hospitality sector providing improved service and reduced costs while providing the hotel with a flexible, integrated communications system that links key services to offer its guests a 5-star customer experience.”
