Gamestream 11

DUBAI, PARIS, SAO PAULO, LONDON and MOSCOW – GameStream11 will make its debut as part of an action-packed programme at DCC MEA 2011, which takes place at Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort in Fujairah (pictured left), UAE, from May 17th to 19th 2011. GameStream11, which is backed by Red Distribution, Microsoft and Sony, is a new content track. GameStream11 will use DCC MEA to inform the region’s retail channel about the latest developments in gaming technology and how go-to-market models and consumer engagement can be improved even further.

“We are delighted that the GameStream11 alliance has chosen DCC MEA as a platform to take its message to the region’s leading retailers,” commented Farouk Hemraj (pictured right), CEO at DISTREE Events, the company behind DCC MEA 2011. “The GameStream11 programme includes a keynote speech from one of the industry’s most influential executives, interactive demonstration zones, evening functions and sessions on how best to sell gaming solutions through the retail channel.”

The MEA retail channel continues to evolve rapidly as vendors and distributors work hard to tap into growing demand across the region. With more than 150 senior retail and e-tail executives set to attend DCC MEA, the event offers an unparalleled opportunity for vendors and distributors to arrange pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings with major buyers.

“There is some volatility in the market right now because of political concerns in certain countries,” continued Hemraj. “Against this backdrop, the value of bringing all the main vendors, distributors and retailers together in one place at one time becomes even greater. It is an opportunity for all parties to address immediate issues and discuss how to work together to plan for future growth.”

Only a few exhibitor spaces now remain for DCC MEA 2011. For vendors and distributors looking to launch, build or manage retail channels, DCC MEA remains the most cost-effective business development platform for expanding reach and driving sellout across the region.

Belkin is now confirmed as Platinum Sponsor of DCC MEA with Kaspersky, Lenovo and Nokia all participating as Gold Sponsors. Asbis, Cisco Flip, Dicota and ITE Distribution are this year’s Silver Sponsors. DCC MEA 2011 will also feature a keynote speech from Dr. Rudi Aunkofer, GfK’s Global Director for IT, outlining the latest market data and trends for 2011.

DCC MEA is an all-encompassing event, serving the needs of the largest retailers through to independent stores. Similarly, vendors at different levels of business development in MEA, all benefit from attending the event.

“The first and third mornings of DCC MEA also see the launch of a new Power Retail Programme,” added Hemraj. “During these sessions, the regional management teams of the region’s largest retailers are allocated private rooms in which to meet senior channel executives from major vendors. This offers a neutral platform for both sides to discuss topical business issues.”

The fourth annual ‘Middle East Retail Academy’ (MERA) Awards also take place in conjunction with DCC MEA 2011. Hundreds of retail executives will vote live for their preferred vendors in ten different product categories. Using data gathered during the last 12 months, the ‘MERA: 2011 Awards’ will also recognise the region’s most appreciated retailers, top performing distributors and individual executives that have excelled in the retail channel.

The Live@DCC MEA session will vendors the opportunity to outline their retail channel strategy to the entire event audience. The conference programme will also include panel discussions featuring top retail executives, the ever popular ’60 Seconds to Convince’ Awards programme and Retail Academy workshop sessions on the final day of the event. The MERA Strategy Forum will also offer an afternoon of discussion groups for top vendors and retailers.

After its successful debut at last year’s event, the DCC MEA Hospitality Zone returns for 2011. Located above the main exhibition area, the Hospitality Zone offers private rooms for vendors to demonstrate their latest ICT & CE solutions and showcase forthcoming products.

“The pace of change in the ICT & CE retail market shows no sign of slowing down,” concluded Hemraj. “DCC MEA is an opportunity for all delegates to stay up to speed on the latest developments, network with their peers and benefit from face-to-face interaction with senior executives from across the MEA channel.”
