Fujairah, United Arab Emirates, 17 May 2011: The inaugural GameStream11 programme today announced the winning recipients of its retailer awards. The GameStream11 Awards recognised excellence in gaming retail. These accolades highlight excellence and creativity in the retail sale of gaming solutions and products across the region.

The winners are:

GameStream11, which is backed by Red Distribution, Microsoft and Sony, is a new content track at Digital Consumer Channel (DCC) Middle East & Africa (MEA). GameStream11 uses DCC MEA to inform the region’s retail channel about the latest developments in gaming technology and how go-to-market models and consumer engagement can be improved even further.

The GameStream11 programme kick-started with a keynote speech from Stefan Lampinen, one of the industry’s most influential executives, focusing on the overall outlook for the games industry. The programme also includes interactive demonstration zones, evening functions and special boardroom sessions on how best to sell gaming solutions through the retail channel.

DCC MEA 2011, scheduled to run from 17-19 May 2011 at Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort in Fujairah, has drawn participation from 60 international vendors covering a broad range of products in the IT and consumer electronics (CE) sector from accessories to high end home networking solutions and communications gadgets. More than 170 representatives from key retailers across the region have accepted their invitation to attend the event as DCC MEA guests.

For the second year in a row, the event will be headlined by Belkin as its Platinum sponsor along with Intel. Dell, Grand Stores, Kaspersky and Lenovo are Gold sponsors while Cisco, ProTechnology, Asbis, ITE, and NAVTEQ are Silver sponsors.
