Dubai, UAE, 28 June 2010: FVC, the leading Value Added Distributor across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), has signed a distribution agreement with Apere Inc., the only appliance-based Identity (ID) and Access Management solution in the world. The agreement awards FVC the distribution rights for the Middle East and North Africa region and expand Apere’s reach in the region’s telco, enterprise and government sector.

Apere’s IMAG (Identity Managed Access Gateway) provides complete
identity and user life cycle management  across applications and network
devices in an enterprise. IMAG uniquely enforces policies and role
based access to resources both at applications and network device level,
coupled with extensive reporting.

FVC’s Managing Director, K.S. Parag, said, “As the leading  specialist
distributor in the region, we look for strategic partnerships in key
technology areas that would meet the needs of our regional enterprises.
In a region where the workforce is mobile and changing (especially in
the GCC region), identity management becomes a crucial function for a
network manager or indeed in any organization where information security
is critical to their growth and competitive strategy. We are pleased to
partner with Apere who are one of the pioneers in the ULM space a new
segment of the IAM market.”

Apere’s IMAG’s ID based access control bridges the two domains of
application security and network security using features like auto
discovery, workflow delegation and Rapid Connector Appliance. IMAG
builds a policy database with the intelligence of all the users and
their access rights within the enterprise. Any update to IDs result in
automatic updates of access policies in IMAG and in turn secures the
resources. IMAG can also do role based user provisioning with
authorization workflow to the managed applications, provide self
administered password reset service to users, and generate detailed
reports including one click compliance reports at scheduled time.

These dynamic real time policies are applied on the network traffic to
control access to critical resources. APIs are provided to push these
policies to other enforcement devices like NAC and IPS devices.
Harsh Arun Raval, Regional Director Sales- EMEA at Apere, adds: “We
chose FVC as our value added distributor after a lot of debate and
research. FVC brings with it a strong network of channels and end users
who would immensely benefit from the solutions that we have to offer
from Apere. FVC channels all our activities and we will benefit from
their expertise and market knowledge.”

FVC will offer the complete range of Apere solutions and will support
partners throughout the region.
