DISTREE Events is expanding into the Asia Pacific market in 2013, driven by demand from ICT and consumer electronics (CE) vendors for an effective regional channel development platform. DISTREE Asia Pacific (www.distree-apac.com) will offer vendors easy access to major channel buyers from across this vast region in one place at one time. The first DISTREE Asia Pacific will take place in Singapore from November 12th to 14th 2013.

DISTREE Asia Pacific 2013 will be staged at the Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa Resort in Singapore. DISTREE Asia Pacific will cover major markets in SAARC, South East Asia and Oceania, with top distributors, retailers and e-tailers invited to attend the three-day event. This includes representatives from more than 20 countries, including strategically important emerging markets such as India, Indonesia and the Philippines.

“We’ve been listening closely to the needs of ICT and CE brands,” explained Farouk Hemraj, CEO at DISTREE Events. “They understand the power of our event format and have expressed a clear interest in seeing us expand into Asia Pacific. We have invested in developing our local resources in the region and canvassed the opinions of major distributors and retailers operating in the market. The time is now right for this next step in DISTREE Events’ international expansion.”

DISTREE Asia Pacific will offer a compelling combination of pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings, conference programme, exhibition, awards, new technology showcases and workshop sessions to deliver a comprehensive business development platform for both vendors and channel partners. The event will also include an ‘invitation only’ Strategy Forum for senior executives to discuss the major issues and trends impacting market growth and development.

More than 400 delegates, including senior executives from the top volume distributors and retailers operating in the region, are set to attend DISTREE Asia Pacific 2013. The Asia Pacific market offers significant growth potential for ICT & CE vendors. With growing consumer demand and solid economic growth, the region remains ripe for inward investment and channel development.

“As with all fast-growing and dynamic markets, vendors need a solid understanding of the channel landscape to develop and expand their routes-to-market,” said Ashish Kapahi, Event Director for DISTREE Asia Pacific.

The first vendor-neutral channel awards for the region will also take place at DISTREE Asia Pacific 2013. The ‘APAC Channel Academy: 2013 Awards’ will celebrate excellence in IT retail and distribution. The awards will cover multiple product categories, with the winners decided by a live electronic vote during the event’s Gala Dinner.

Kapahi added: “DISTREE Asia Pacific is the perfect opportunity for vendors to make a real impact with the top buyers and senior channel executives from across the region. The pre-event research has given us a wealth of data on the size and structure of channels in Asia Pacific. We look forward to discussing the opportunities that exist with vendors in the coming months, and welcoming them to Singapore in November 2013.”

DISTREE’s global events are far removed from traditional trade shows or exhibitions. Using a unique format developed by DISTREE Events and deployed in fast-growing emerging markets around the world, each three-day event allows attendees to pre-schedule a personal agenda of one-on-one meetings based on their precise business needs.

DISTREE’s events are recognised by hundreds of vendors worldwide – from A-brands through to start-ups – as the most efficient and cost-effective platform for managing, building or launching routes-to-market in specific geographic regions. DISTREE Events has more than a decade’s experience of running business-focused channel development events. The company already operates events covering Europe, Latin America, Russia & CIS, the Middle East and Africa.
