Dubai, United Arab Emirates, My 28, 2013 – Buffalo Technology, a global leader in the design, development and manufacturing of wired and wireless networking; and network and direct attached storage solutions, unveiled a new ultra-thin storage unit that it claims is the thinnest on the market, measuring in at just 8.8mm thick.
The device, called the MiniStation Slim, offers storage of 500GB and has data transfer speeds of 5Gbit/s via a USB 3.0 port. It can also double as a hard disk drive recorder for audio and video content.
The full dimensions of the device are 8.8mm thick, 11.5cm long and 7.9cm wide and it weighs 140g. It’s compatible with the new Microsoft operating system Windows 8, as well as Windows 7, Vista and XP, and Mac OS X 10.5 or later.
“The MiniStation Slim is the latest addition to the Buffalo MiniStation family, and is a sleek, high performance, high capacity on-the-go storage gadget,” said Jasem Al Roomi, Managing Director of Buffalo Advantec FZCO.
Buffalo has been the first to market 8.8mm thick portable storage in the Middle East, and many of Buffalo’s partners started carrying the MiniStation Slim. The product is available from Buffalo’s partners in the Middle East and comes in either Black, Red or Silver in MSRP AED299.
