Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, the long-trusted partner of service providers, enterprises and governments around the world, has announced the appointment of Baher Ezzat as its Regional Director for GCC w.e.f. 1 July 2012. Baher has been with Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise since 1999 and used to cover Egypt, Sudan, and the Levant region prior to his current assignment. He replaces Philippe Cros who has returned to France in his new role as Sales Director for South France at Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise.

“Baher is an invaluable team player and is very well positioned to grow our business in the GCC region,” said Alain Penel, VP for Middle East Africa at Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise. “His key focus will be to continue to work with our direct partners and distributors to ensure that we focus on their needs.”

“My focus will be to help our partners tap into new opportunities within vertical sectors especially in education, hospitality, transport, and healthcare where we have a proven track record,” added Baher Ezzat. “We are working with our distributor, FVC, to create stronger go-to-market strategies, setting up local support including training and certification.”

In his new role, Baher will be appointing Ahmed Johar as the Territory Manager for Kuwait as well as expanding the teams in Qatar and UAE.

Baher has held a variety of management roles in enterprise market at Alcatel-Lucent, including pre-sales in Middle East and South Asia. He is a speaker at various technology-focused events. Baher holds a Communication Engineering degree from the Ain Shams University in Cairo.
