to 3Com”. These seminars aimed at the resellers across the region focusing on
the SMB sector will highlight some of the new solutions that the vendor has
recently introduced that will help its partners maximize returns on investment
(ROI) for its customers.

“3Com has been a valued partner
for some time now and we have seen a steady growth in its value business,” said
Bahaa Saleh, Managing Director for Aptec
Distribution. “This growth has been fueled by the need for organizations in the
region to leverage technology to help them maximize the use of in-house
resources.”

According to Sabbahuddin Khan, Business
Unit Manager for Networking at Aptec Distribution, 3Com has been making the
necessary changes in its product portfolio to regain the market share in the
volume business as well as the enterprise segment. “3Com has deployed
additional people to help provide on-the-ground support for this segment of the
market and this combined with our own in-house resources has help us to
introduce special offers to support the channel and revive the confidence in
3Com products,” added Khan.

In addition to the seminars, Aptec
in conjunction with 3Com plan to host several product training sessions.

“Success in the networking
industry is about customer intimacy and value chain creation,” says Hemayun
Bazaz, distribution manager at 3Com. “3Com’s value chain structure embraces
innovative, cost-effective product design and manufacturing, in-house global
service and support, and local customer intimacy with direct-touch sales for
enterprises. This customer-focused value chain leverages all these components
to provide real value to enterprises.”

According to Bazaz, with IT
budgets under scrutiny, network managers are looking for alternatives that
offer better value for money. Enterprises are now looking carefully at their IT
budgets and realising that they can get more performance for less spend.

The seminar, with the first one
scheduled for 22 December in Dubai, will not only share 3Com’s product roadmap
but also share the company’s partner initiatives across the region. Other
countries covered by this road show will include Qatar, Oman and Kingdom of
Saudi Arabia in the first quarter of 2009.
