Middle East – September 22, 2011: Market research firm Gartner, Inc. placed Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) in the Leaders Quadrant of the “Magic Quadrant for Corporate Telephony” report, published September 15, 2011 and authored by Jay Lassman, Steve Blood and Geoff Johnson.

According to the report, “leaders are high-viability vendors with broad portfolios, significant market shares, broad geographic coverage, a clear vision of how telephony needs will evolve and a proven track record of delivering telephony solutions. They are well-positioned with their current product portfolio and likely to continue delivering leading products. Leaders do not necessarily offer a best-of-breed solution for every customer requirement. However, overall, their products are strong and often have some exceptional capabilities. Additionally, these vendors provide solutions that present relatively low risk.”

The Alcatel-Lucent OpenTouch communications platform is helping to change the conversation across the enterprise. Offering a completely open approach, the platform helps to make communication more collaborative and enables users to better engage with colleagues, customers and partners. OpenTouch supports voice, video, text and instant messaging across smartphones, tablets and PCs with the ability for users to seamlessly move across devices with context, including Alcatel-Lucent and third-party devices. The Alcatel-Lucent OmniTouch™ 8082 My IC Phone ushers in a new era of application access and sophistication never before seen in a desktop phone. The ‘smart deskphone’ drives a new level of conversation in the enterprise with multimedia applications and an entirely new user interface.

“Leadership is today’s market requires openness,” said Nicolas de Kouchkovsky, Chief Marketing Officer, Alcatel-Lucent Enteprise. “Our strategy around enterprise communications and collaboration delivers our customers choice between our own innovative devices and those of third parties, including tablets, smartphones and PCs.”
