Alcatel-Lucent will reinforce its growing success in the infrastructure sector in the Middle East with a presence in two of the largest technology events in the region: Gitex 2012 (Gulfcomms) and ITU Telecom World 2012, both events to be held in Dubai World Trade Centre from 14th to 18th October 2012. Ben Verwaayen, CEO of Alcatel-Lucent will visit Dubai for the first time and will join a special panel discussion on innovation at ITU Telecom World.

In addition to the keynote at ITU Telecom World, Alcatel-Lucent will be presenting several workshops that will highlight the power of innovation, Broadband roll out and competition in Middle East and Africa, and Opportunities and threats for regional operators. The company will also be announcing new telecom projects in the Middle East at the event.

Alcatel-Lucent’s Enterprise division will be participating at Gitex 2012 for the second year in a row. The theme for its participation will be Build Your Own Destiny (BYOD), focusing on what IT and business leaders need to support their organization’s growing need for ubiquitous mobility. Build Your Own Destiny will highlight the need for network resources to be made ready, as the Personal Cloud Era comes with challenges such as the explosion of Big Data, 10Gig migration, Data Center consolidation and real time Voice and Video integration.
