Celebrated on 28 April 2015, the annual World Day for Safety and Health at Work promotes the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases globally. It is an awareness-raising campaign intended to focus international attention on the magnitude of the problem and on how promoting and creating a safety and health culture can help reduce the number of work-related deaths and injuries.

Henrique do Vale, Alcatel-Lucent country senior Officer, Qatar said: “Health & Safety is not a simple requirement Alcatel-Lucent uses towards our customers, but something we believe and incorporate in our operation. On World Day for Safety and Health at Work, we saw the opportunity to develop, with our partners in business, awareness activities to share the root of our safety requirements – the Zero Tolerance Principles. This Health & Safety Open Day allowed us to reinforce our Zero Tolerance Principles as part of the daily agenda, and to keep our teams and our partners teams focused on the health and safety procedures and best practices on the sector.”
