Abu Dhabi, UAE, 6 September 2009: Abu Dhabi Police has now launched the first phase of its network of Polycom rich media video conferencing systems across three police stations (Shabiah, Musafah and Khalidiya) in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to provide live translation during official cases, meetings and regular reports.

This first phase will connect inspectors and investigation rooms in the select police stations to translators, accessible 24 x 7. The next phase will connect the rest of the police stations in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Traeef and Al Khazna.

Major General Mohamed Al Awadi Al Manhali Acting General Director of Policing Operations at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ permitted that: “Per the directions from His Highness Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, we evaluated the various options we had in respect to leveraging the quality of the investigation process at Abu Dhabi Police through providing investigators with 24x7x365 interpretation services via a video vonference facility, since UAE has a multi-cultural and multi-lingual society. We selected the solution that was proposed to us by ALROWAD IT Solutions in partnership with FVC for its uniqueness and strong features.”
