Istanbul, Turkey, 29 July 2015 – Turkey’s innovative mobile operator Avea has selected Alcatel-Lucent’s IP Mobile Backhaul solution to offer higher quality and high-speed voice and data services. Avea is upgrading its infrastructure to provide better service to customers and to guarantee high efficiency, flexibility and scalability by implementing all new generation high-speed mobile broadband and existing 2G and 3G voice and data services via a single IP infrastructure.

Avea’s infrastructure is ready for future generations

First to be launched in the Marmara and Aegean regions and in the city of Adana, this technology indicates the dawn of a new era in Avea’s service quality, says Mr. Coşkun Şahin, Chief Technology Officer of Türk Telekom. Mr. Şahin also adds:

“Mobile Backhaul optimizes the communication between base stations and the mobile core. This optimization will improve the efficiency of our infrastructure and thus have positiveinfluence on our services. Thanks to this system networking of base stations of any generation will be performed through a single structure. This will improve our data transportation capacity and make our management infrastructure more user-friendly. This will help us gain more advantage in terms of being better prepared for the future.”

Alcatel-Lucent’s solution also offers web-based Service Portal integration that enables end-to-end network and service provisioning. The Service Portal not only maximizes operational efficiency and flexibility, but also checks and improves processes and monitors performance. These flexible solutions support all mobile access technologies and network topologies.
