Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise announced it has been placed as Visionary in the Gartner, Inc. “Magic Quadrant for the Data Center Network Infrastructure” published February 11, 2013 and authored by Tim Zimmerman and Mark Fabbi. The report indicates “A Visionary has demonstrated an ability to increase the features in its offering, to provide a unique and differentiated approach to the market. A Visionary has innovated in one or more of the key areas of data center infrastructure, such as management (including virtualization), security (including policy enforcement), SDN and operational efficiency, as well as cost reductions.”

New this year, the “Magic Quadrant for Data Center Infrastructure” report is the result of a growth focused on the core and data center segments of the network. Gartner has modified its tracking of the Network Infrastructure space and series of Magic Quadrants around the networking markets to focus more on the business issues within the enterprise.
