Today, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise is evolving its award winning Communications Solutions to help businesses meet these challenges, and advance their communications capabilities, while protecting previous investments. Expanding the OpenTouch Suite to existing solutions will help employees work more efficiently and serve customers better via native conferencing capabilities, support of mixed media, and enabling users to move freely between any devices, all within the same conversation.
OpenTouch can provide more flexible communications letting employees and customers use multiple devices and telecommute; deliver rich conversation experiences while protecting investments; and puts the use of High Definition video within reach of all employees to help better collaborate across locations.
With this expansion, Office Communication Solutions becomes OpenTouch Suite for Small and Medium Businesses (SMB) and Corporate Communication Solutions becomes OpenTouch Suite for Mid and Large Enterprises (MLE).
In each of the market segments OpenTouch Suite is comprised of:
• A range of communications platforms designed to address different needs and different markets, from pure IP telephony to rich, SIP-based, multimedia communications switching, in distributed or centralized modes, CPE or hosted;
• The most complete portfolio of communication applications to address business telephony, Unified Communications, collaboration, mobility, video conferencing, video sharing, customer interactions and unified management needs;

Eric Penisson, Vice President Communications Solutions, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, said, “This announcement of OpenTouch™ Suite is fully aligned with our execution strategy to help businesses change the conversation. New communications experiences are now available for small, medium and large enterprises to meet employees increasing demand for multi-media, multi-device and multi-party conversations, from any device over any network. The financial benefit of not losing existing investments in legacy equipment, coupled with the ability to deploy solutions in any model, from premises to cloud, is instrumental in helping IT departments achieve their services and financial objectives.”
First introduced in 2011, OpenTouch is a next-generation communications platform that offers a rich, multimedia, multi-device, multi-party, real-time communications experience to all sized businesses and offers telephony users a comprehensive and evolutionary path towards new capabilities and deployment models. The components of the suite can be gradually delivered, leveraging the agility of full software solutions that can be virtualized in datacenters or deployed on premise. The high quality user experience is the same whether communications are delivered over existing, public or through fully dedicated networks. The suite is complemented with business practices and partners’ applications integration that have designed new patterns of communications for specific industries, adapting the conversation experience to their business need.
