KSA/UAE, 26 May 2011 – Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU), as part of the Global Dynamic Tour, presented new concepts and technologies to its enterprise customers and partners in this region, that will change the way communications is perceived in the world. At the event in both cities, the company demonstrated Alcatel-Lucent OpenTouch™, its converged multimedia communications suite that helps turn enterprise communications into collaborative conversations and business services.
Using OpenTouch, Alcatel-Lucent showcased various ways that make communications more collaborative within an enterprise environment irrespective of the physical presence of representatives. In addition, Alcatel-Lucent created simulations of the many applications that could evolve with the introduction of OpenTouch to the market. This included OpenTouch’s ability to seamlessly transfer calls between devices and media, moving from a smartphone to a deskphone, or upscaling a conversation from voice to video, for example.
Xavier Martin, VP Product Marketing, Enterprise Communication Solutions at Alcatel-Lucent, said, “Communications is evolving. It is inevitable. The new generation of professionals is already using technologies such as video and social media in a personal context. These technologies have tremendous potential for the business world to increase the value of business interactions and turn simple communications into collaborative conversations. At Alcatel-Lucent, we have integrated these consumer technologies into a series of solutions under the OpenTouch umbrella.”
