UAE, 16 March 2010: Market Buzz, a specialist PR agency for the technology sector, has teamed up with Guy Whitcroft, a channel consultant and senior executive with several large distributors in Middle East & Africa, and several other industry specialists to launch a series of workshops, Channel Buzz, that focus on key skill areas that will help the Middle East IT channel develop and grow.

The first series of workshops aimed at the managers/owners of resellers in the UAE is focused on helping the senior management understand some of the best industry practices and the resources available in the region.

“In my experience, the channel here is so busy focusing on its daily needs, it sometimes misses great opportunity for maximising its in-house resources to help them grow the business or increase margins,” said Guy Whitcroft, former COO of Aptec. “From my association with events like Digital Consumer Channel in Fujairah and DISTREE in Monaco, I have noticed that workshops are popular because they are vendor neutral and deal with topics that are relevant to their needs. I think we have access to a lot of resources in the Middle East and understand enough about the market to help them grow.”

Channel Buzz breakfast workshops will typically last from 9-11, cover a wide range of business/industry topics and be led by top executives in their fields. These workshops will start in Bur Dubai and extend these to other areas/countries depending on the demand. There will be a nominal cost for joining the workshops to ensure only genuine participation. Topics listed for discussion include: Managing Logistics, Managing Forex Transactions, Managing Your Channel, Managing Performance Through Pay, Managing Legal Issues, Managing Training & Certification, Managing SLAs, Managing Customer Service, Managing Value-Add Opportunities, Managing Cash Flow, Managing Business Communications Effectively, Managing Credit, Managing Social Networking for Business, Managing Inventory and Managing Human Resources.

The workshops will be fortnightly and the first one is scheduled to for 13 April, 2010 on cash flow. A LinkedIn Group has been started to facilitate communication with anyone potentially interested in participating in, or just learning more about, Channel Buzz: .
