EMEA, 8 September 2009 – Fortinet® – a market-leading network security provider and worldwide leader of unified threat management (UTM) solutions – today announced the appointment of Emilio Roman as its new EMEA director of channel, marketing and renewals.
After five years of sales management in the Iberia region, Roman brings a strong field experience to the role, which will help him drive a high-value marketing and business strategy with Fortinet partners across the EMEA region.
“I’m very excited about the new challenge Fortinet has given me, and I’m looking forward to implementing new actions that will help strengthen our partner program and brand awareness, equip our channel with the right marketing tools and improve our service contract renewals processes,” said Emilio Roman.
Roman has more than 15 years of sales and management experience gained at various companies including Fortinet, Attachmate and Samsung Electronics. In 2004, he joined Fortinet as country manager for Iberia and started business in that region. Within five years, he brought Fortinet to a leadership position in Portugal and Spain, where, according to IDC, Fortinet is number one in UTM and number two in the network security appliances market in factory revenue*. In that role, Roman also built Fortinet’s a successful channel in the region, which now counts more than 150 partners.
