Computers today announced the launch of its first modular server built
from the ground up for small and midsize businesses (SMBs). The NEC
FlexPower Server, developed in conjunction with Intel Corporation,
combines computing, networking and storage capabilities in one system
to meet SMBs’ need for budget-friendly IT simplicity and flexibility.
The integrated server system has the ability to support up to six
Server Compute Nodes and 14 SAS (serial attached SCSI) 2.5” hard disk
drives, as well as two Ethernet Switch Modules, integrated SAN (storage
attached network) and a Management Module.

Designed for SMBs with demanding IT needs and a limited budget, the NEC
FlexPower Server is ideal for SMBs that are planning to purchase up to
three servers in the next year. By deploying a NEC FlexPower Server,
SMBs can get the server performance they desire, added storage
capabilities and high-reliability and manageability features at
cost-effective prices.
