solutions highlight Foundry’s growing leadership in the global
networking industry and continued commitment to the Middle East.

MIDDLE EAST, 5 October 2008: Foundry Networks®, Inc., a performance and
total solutions leader for end-to-end switching and routing, will
announce the availability of the new FastIron® GS-STK and FastIron
LS-STK stackable L2/3 switches using IronStack™ technology at Gitex
this year. The show will also be the platform for the launch in the
Middle East for the new FastIron WS Series, a compact power efficient
Layer 2/3 switch and NetIron CES 2000 Series. The NetIron CES 2000 In
addition to the introduction of the new technologies, Foundry Networks’
Franchesca Walker will participate in a panel discussion on convergence
as part of the Gitex Conferences.

“Gitex is a very important show for us,” said Franchesca Walker,
director of enterprise solutions at Foundry Networks. “As networking
needs in the region evolve, events like Gitex give us the opportunity
to demonstrate our new technologies to our partners and customers
across the region.”

With the flexibility to mix-and-match Power over Ethernet (PoE)-ready,
PoE upgradeable and non-PoE switches in a single stack, the FastIron
GS-STK and FastIron LS-STK models, using IronStack technology, offer
the benefits of “pay-as-you-grow” scalability, ease of single switch
operations, and low initial cost of a compact access switch. These new
switches are designed for organizations that require a scalable and
secure “Intelligent Edge” solution that delivers the high efficiency,
size and ease of deployment advantages of fixed-configuration access

"With the availability of the FastIron stackable edge switches, Foundry
allows enterprise customers to deploy high-performance networking
infrastructure with the initial cost of chassis-based solutions," added
Walker. "Foundry’s IronStack stacking technology provides an advanced
solution for building a secure and converged network for the
intelligent edge that meets business needs today and is scalable for
future growth and application requirements.”

Foundry Networks will also announce the FastIron WS Series of one rack
unit (1RU) fixed form factor Layer 2/3 switches, extending its broad
edge-to-core networking portfolio to encompass a focused, intelligent
solution for small and medium businesses (SMB), branch offices, and
large distributed enterprises. Available in eight models, including
Power over Ethernet (PoE) models, and field upgradeable to Layer 3
routing, the FastIron WS Series is one of the most complete family of
compact convergence-ready Layer 2/3 switches in the industry. The
FastIron WS switches are available as 24- and 48-port 10/100 or
10/100/1000 Mbps models. Each switch model is orderable with or without
Power over Ethernet (PoE). FastIron WS series PoE switches support the
IEEE 802.3af standard for delivering up to 12.95 watts of power to an
Ethernet endpoint.

The NetIron® CES 2000 Series is a compact 1RU, multi-service
edge/aggregation switch with a powerful set of capabilities that
combine performance with rich functionality at the network edge. The
NetIron CES 2000 Series switch offers network planners a broad set of
high-performance IPv4, Classic Layer 2, Provider Bridge (PB) and
Provider Backbone Bridge (PBB) functionalities in the same device. With
these capabilities, the NetIron CES 2000 Series addresses a diverse set
of applications in metro edge networks, ISP networks, mobile backhaul
networks, data centers, large enterprises, government networks and

Foundry Networks will be on Stand Z-MP10 in Zabeel Hall.
